Anchor Initiatives

The purpose of the HBCU Center Research Network (HCRN) is to build a community of HBCU and HBCU-ally researchers, practitioners, and leaders who work collaboratively to identify, study, and solve issues that hinder HBCU success and to amplify the collective capacity of HBCUs to empirically document the strategies that have resulted in African American postsecondary excellence.

The HBCU Scholarship Repository is comprised of curated annotated bibliographies focused on issues central to HBCUs, HBCU scholars, and the communities they serve.

The HBCU Student Success Models and Metrics mini-courses are a “HBCU student-centric” approach to better understand the experience of undergraduate students and to use their “telling of those experiences” to identify effective and proven strategies for achieving impactful results. The goal is to generate “models and metrics” that accentuate rather than dismiss our HBCU-specific truths, tools, and talents.

The HBCU Researcher Circles revolve around shared areas of interest or research. Established by two or more scholars, these circles invite fellow researchers to join virtual discussions at The Table: An HBCU Potluck of Research and Ideas, the online community of the HBCU Center. Engage in collaborative dialogue, share insights, and foster a sense of community as we collectively explore diverse realms of research within the HBCU community.
