Policy Initiatives

Annual Policy Forum

The Annual Policy Forum connects HBCU educators, practitioners and allies who are interested in furthering the advancement of HBCUs through research. The Annual Policy Forum provides for relationship building, networking, collaboration and sharing of best practices relevant to the needs of the HBCU community. Activities may include roundtable discussions, focused breakout sessions, networking receptions and other events aimed at enhancing research and encouraging policy change.

Periodic Policy Briefs

Ensuring synergy between The HBCU Center’s work and current and future policy is a core priority.  Our policy initiatives include sponsoring strategic convenings, publishing policy briefs, conducting and disseminating empirical research to our communities, policy makers, and higher education professionals, and creating opportunities for institutional collaboration.

HBCU Center Publications

The HBCU Center initiatives and programs will culminate in publications that identify, analyze, and inform our community and others of HBCU’s omnipresent role in the higher education landscape in the United States and beyond. The HBCU Center Research Repository will include publications, presentations, studies, and dissertations that document our work.
